B.C. Lenehan served as a priest in a number of Roman Catholic churches in Iowa from 1867-1909. He was born in New York City and moved to Dubuque, Iowa with his family in 1853. He was ordained as a priest in 1867 and served in churches in McGregor, Sioux City, Denison, Boone, and Fort Dodge. He became vicar-general of the Sioux City diocese in 1902.
